Rituraj Singh, famous for portraying the character of Yashpal in the popular TV show Anupamaa, passed away on Monday night at 59 due to a heart attack.
Television actor Rituraj Singh passed away following a cardiac arrest. He was 59 years old. According to a report by Times Now News, his death has been confirmed by his close friend and actor, Amit Behl.
According to the report, Rituraj passed away on Monday night. He was recently hospitalized due to a pancreatic disease.
“He had been hospitalised due to some stomach issues and was discharged a few days ago. He passed away around 12.30 am at his home due to a cardiac arrest,” Amit Behl informed PTI.
Posting on X (formerly Twitter), actor Arshad Warsi expressed his sorrow, saying, “I am so saddened to know that Ritu Raj passed away. We lived in the same building, he was a part of my first film as a producer. Lost a friend and a great actor… will miss you brother…”
Hansal Mehta exclaimed, “Rituraj!!!! Can’t believe this! I directed him briefly in a daily soap called K Street Pali Hill but in the process we became good friends. Been a while since we hung out but I have such fond memories. Untapped actor and a warm human. Gone suddenly and too early.”
Vivek Agnihotri recently shared a photo along with a caption that read, “Rituraj, my friend, how did you make it even possible? ‘Kitna baaki tha… (so much was left).’ Artists never die. Om Shanti.”
Rituraj has appeared in numerous television shows, including Banegi Apni Baat, Jyoti, Hitler Didi, Shapath, Warrior High, Aahat, Adaalat, Diya and Aur Baati Hum. He portrayed the character of Balwant Choudhary in the TV series Laado 2.
The actor has appeared in films like Badrinath Ki Dulhania (2017), Vash- Possessed by the Obsessed, and Thunivu (2023). His most recent project was Yaariyan 2, which came out last year.
Rituraj has appeared in various web series such as The Test Case, Hey Prabhu, Criminal, Abhay, Bandish Bandits, Never Kiss Your Best Friend, and Made in Heaven season 2. Prior to his passing, he portrayed the character of Yashpal in the television series Anupamaa.
