Prime Video India released the trailer of Ae Watan Mere Watan, featuring Sara Ali Khan in the main role, on Monday. The video, which is almost three minutes long, was posted on the streaming platform’s YouTube channel. The movie takes place during the backdrop of the Quit India Movement in 1942. The trailer depicted Sara’s character, Usha, bravely battling the British to liberate the nation from their control.
The trailer immerses viewers in the pre-independence era, where they meet 22-year-old Usha, a college student in Bombay. In her quest to assist India in gaining independence, she establishes an underground radio station that ignites the Quit India Movement. The trailer showcases the bravery, selflessness, and ingenuity of the young people of the nation during India’s struggle for independence, as depicted through the character’s journey.
This film draws inspiration from actual historical events and portrays a significant moment in India’s journey towards freedom. This thrilling drama is a production of Dharmatic Entertainment, with Karan Johar, Apoorva Mehta, and Somen Mishra as producers. Helmed by Kannan Iyer, the film also includes Sachin Khedekar, Abhay Verma, Sparsh Shrivastav, Alexx O’ Nell, and Anand Tiwari in important roles, with a special cameo by Emraan Hashmi. Ae Watan Mere Watan will be making its debut exclusively on Prime Video in India and over 240 countries and territories worldwide on March 21, available in Hindi with dubs in Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada.
