No ‘offensive’ content in Article 370, claims Yami Gautam.

Yami Gautam’s film “Article 370” premiered in Indian theatres on February 23. The movie is currently pending approval in Gulf countries before it can be released.
Yami Gautam is enjoying the success of her recent film, Article 370. Recently, there were reports circulating about the film being prohibited in Gulf countries. In a recent interview with Variety, the actor expressed her view that there is nothing ‘offensive’ in the film, stating that it all comes down to a particular perspective.

In an interview with Variety, Yami expressed surprise at the film being denied access to the Gulf markets, stating, “We didn’t expect this as we believe the film is not offensive in any way.” Based on its reception in India, it seems unlikely that anyone would take issue with the film. Indeed, there are rumours circulating that this film is not intended to spread propaganda. There will always be individuals who pass judgement without watching, but we are accustomed to it. Leaving the movie, one can’t help but feel a sense of pride and patriotism. This development played a crucial role in promoting peace and progress in a region like Kashmir.

She elaborated on her experience of watching the film in a crowded theatre. “It’s a matter of perspective – what might be jingoism for somebody, is patriotism for me. [Watching the film in a theatre was one of the] best experiences in recent times. We were all clapping and hooting and they’re all strangers sitting next to each other, but if you can infuse that feeling of oneness, that you feel good about something, I think that’s an achievement. I like to see the bigger story, the positive story, and go home with that,” she mentioned.

Article 370 is supported by Jio Studios and the banner B62 Studios, led by Aditya Dhar. Yami portrays the character of an intelligence officer named Zooni Haksar. Located in the picturesque setting of Jammu and Kashmir, the movie revolves around the significant repeal of Article 370, which provided special constitutional rights to the former state. Aside from Yami, the movie features Priyamani, Arun Govil, and Kiran Karmarkar in prominent roles.
