Their protest, apparently intended to interrupt US President Joe Biden’s appearance on Late Night with Seth Meyers, highlighted the pressing calls for a ceasefire in the Israel-Palestine conflict. The arrest of Hunter shed light on the increasing pressures facing the Biden administration to reassess its position and advocate for a ceasefire.

Following her role as trans teen Jules Vaughn in HBO’s popular series Euphoria in 2019, Hunter Schafer appeared as Tigris Snow in The Hunger Games: The Ballad of Songbirds and Snakes in 2023. She has also worked as a model for a wide range of prestigious designer labels including Prada, Dior, Gucci, and many others.

This isn’t the first instance where the actor has made headlines for supporting a social cause. Hunter was recognised by Teen Vogue in 2017 for her efforts against anti-LGBT legislation HB2. In 2021, Time included her in its Next list of ‘100 emerging leaders who are shaping the future’, with a tribute penned by Euphoria co-star Zendaya.

During December 2023, Hollywood actress Susan Sarandon issued an apology on Instagram for remarks she made at a pro-Palestine rally in New York the previous month.

During the rally, the actor expressed concern for individuals who are feeling fearful due to their religious identity, drawing parallels between different communities’ experiences of discrimination. UTA, also known as United Talent Agency, a top talent agency in Hollywood, decided to part ways with Susan as a client due to her comments.
