Director Tarun Dudeja confirms the highly anticipated sequel, Dhak Dhak 2

In an exclusive interview, Tarun Dudeja, the director of Dhak Dhak, has confirmed the exciting news of a sequel to the film. The sequel will feature all four of the original leading ladies.
The director of Dhak Dhak (2023), Tarun Dudeja, has officially announced that a sequel to the film is in the works. The star-studded cast, including Ratna Pathak Shah, Dia Mirza, Sanjana Sanghi, and Fatima Sana Shaikh, will be returning for the highly anticipated follow-up. He explains that it is currently in its early stages. The response we received after the OTT release was overwhelmingly positive, with audiences expressing their appreciation for the characters. Why not embark on a fresh adventure with these characters? We’re delving into the possibilities of new places, new issues, and new challenges, all while following their journey. However, it should be noted that there is still no definitive confirmation at this time.

Dudeja also mentions that the entire cast is excited to embark on a new journey in the second part. The cast would remain unchanged as these characters were adored by the audience. We are brainstorming ideas on how to turn this into an engaging and captivating story. We aim to create a travel film that stands out from the rest, just like the first part. Our goal is to make it unique and unlike anything else. We are exploring where these characters can go and what new experiences they can have, considering what could come next after they found themselves again in the first part. According to him, we are currently in the initial phase of scripting.

Dhak Dhak initially faced a lukewarm response upon its theatrical release, but it managed to find its audience on OTT platforms and garnered appreciation after its digital debut. Will the sequel be intentionally released digitally, maintaining the same level of experience? There is still no final decision on whether we will stick to a theatrical release or explore other options. The initial release was limited to just 150 screens, with minimal marketing and promotions. With a sequel, there is always a greater responsibility. We aim to make it even bigger. The success of the story and the quality of the film will also depend on where we release it. There are numerous factors at play in this decision, making it challenging to make any assumptions at this early stage.
